West Michigan Woman Fights Same Cancer as Dana Reeve

The woman who cared for her paralyzed husband Christopher Reeve for nearly 10 years has died. Forty-four-year-old Dana Reeve passed away Monday night after losing her battle to lung cancer, despite being a non-smoker.

Smoking is the number one cause of lung cancer, but doctor's point to people like Dana and Chris as examples of the fact that there are many different ways lung cancer can develop.

"Hazardous chemical exposure like asbestos, arsenic, nickel, chromium, those type of things also have been related to lung cancer, says Cathy Kessler of Lacks Cancer Center.
